Employment Act 1955

Our classic and best-selling menu. This program will bring you on a journey to interpret all clauses under the Employment Act 1955 and understand the application of ‘minimum’ terms and conditions applicable to an employee. While others may view this as a compliance related program, we assure you that our program focuses on practical applications and best practices.

Participants can expect to master the understanding and application of the Employment Act 1955 by the end of this program.

Managing Absenteeism & Poor Performance

Perhaps the most popular form of termination in most companies, some say this is an inevitable process! This course will cover the types of misconduct, the process involved, i.e. investigation, show cause, suspension and lastly the domestic inquiry.

Understand when you’ll need to conduct a domestic inquiry and when it can be avoided. When a domestic inquiry is necessary, how do you ensure that it is conducted in accordance with the law?

Roles at a Domestic Inquiry

This is an intensive course designed to provide Panellist and Prosecutors with the required knowledge in preparing for a domestic inquiry session. Participants can be from the HR team or selected individuals for this task. No prior experience necessary.

To cap this program off, nothing beats the familiarity of actually conducting a domestic inquiry live. The trainer will prepare participants based on a set of facts and provide training / corrective measures while a domestic inquiry is taking place.

Formulas under the EA may be somewhat complicated. Now, if you couple that up with statutory requirements for EPF, Socso, EIS, PCB, etc. it may well be understood as to why this area has made up for major financial losses for many employers.

Granted, you may have a system to work this out. But wouldn’t it be better if your team understands the nitty gritty of how each function works. This course will enable the participants to grasp the laws related to payment of wages, overtime and allowances, loans (advances) and deductions, bonus, termination benefits, payment of annual leave balance, etc.

A modern day workplace would take every need to eradicate instances of harassment and bullying. The bigger question would be – How do you effectively do so? In this course, the trainer would introduce the concept of harassment and bullying and how and when would it be classified as misconduct.

This course will cover options such as lay-off, shorter work weeks, reducing benefits and allowances based on the Code of Conduct of Industrial Harmony. Participants will also gain a comprehensive understanding of separations schemes (VSS, MSS, etc) and retrenchment, including the steps to carry out such exercises strategically.
