MECA members have the advantage of additional knowledge disseminated through a monthly newsletter containing summaries of recent industrial court awards and appellate judgements highlighting the salient point of each case. This is a must-read for every HR practitioner whose priorities include keeping abreast with developments in the Malaysian industrial relations arena.

Members’ Meeting

Members are also invited to a quarterly forum to discuss and exchange views at exclusive meetings. These meetings showcase notable speakers on Employment Law who are invited to address representatives from member companies. Participation at the members meeting is free.

MECA provides free consultation on all aspects of labour law and industrial relations to their members. Advice may be obtained via telephone, fax, and e-mail or in person at our premises. This service is absolutely free irrespective of the frequency of the calls or visits. Where our consultant is required to call at your premises for consultation, a nominal fee is chargeable.

Privileged Member Rates

While consultation is free for all members, certain additional services are chargeable. For instance, if our member wants MECA to represent them at a Labour Court hearing or assist them in preparation for collective bargaining or domestic inquiry, this is a chargeable service. However, members will be offered privileged rates that are significantly lower than those offered to non-members.

Legal Representation

Advocates and solicitors from MECA’s panel also provide legal representation before the Industrial Court when necessary at privileged member rates.
